Pirate Garage Car Show

SYHS Pirate Garage Car Show

Join Pirate Garage for our 12 annual car show at Santa Ynez High School. This year we are honoring Santa Ynez youth recreation.

Our Former High School teacher, Rob Hill Started the Pirate Garage car show twelve years ago. What started as a small gathering of car enthusiasts in a high school parking lot has become a beloved annual tradition that brings students, families, and the entire community together. As we gear up for our 12th Annual High School Car Show, we invite you to be part of an event that’s more than just horsepower and chrome. It’s about passion, history, and the spirit of automotive culture.

Every year, this show transforms our school grounds into a living museum of automotive excellence, showcasing everything from classic muscle cars to modern marvels. Whether you're a die-hard gearhead, a casual admirer, or just looking for a fun day out, there's something for everyone.

Beyond the polished exteriors and roaring engines, this event is about education and inspiration. Students get hands-on experience with history, engineering, and design, while local enthusiasts share their knowledge and stories with the next generation. It’s a chance for young minds to see how innovation and tradition go hand in hand.

So please mark your calendars, shine up your ride, and join us as we celebrate the art of the automobile at the 12th Annual High School Car Show. Whether you show a car or stop by to admire it, you won’t want to miss this high-octane event on March 15th, 2025, starts at 8:00AM

Family School - Bounty of the Valley

NEW DATE: Saturday, April 5, 2025 (was Sept 28th, changed due to Lake Fire cleanup needed)

At the SYVFS Campus for an evening of fantastic food, wine, music, dancing and great auction items!

This September marks the 50th Anniversary of the SYV Family School and we’re ready to CELEBRATE.

The founding families came together in 1974 with a vision for a school that honors the individual voices of its students, and where play is at the center of developing minds and hearts. We owe the foundation of our vision and mission to those early families, and also to YOU, our valued alumni families, as you played a part in carrying that legacy forward during your time with us.

It is for this reason that we cordially invite you to the school’s largest “family reunion” as we kick off the celebration year with Bounty of the Valley on Saturday, September 28th, 2024.

Join 50 years of alumni and beloved staff and faculty on the Family School campus for dinner, dancing and a rousing live auction. TICKETS are on sale on our website.

Hard Day's Night - A Tribute to the Beatles

Hard Day’s Night, Southern California's #1 Beatles Tribute Show, has been thrilling audiences with tight harmonies and flawless note-for-note instrumental renditions of Beatle hits. Hard Day’s Night has honed their show to become one of the most musically and visually satisfying Beatle tribute acts in the world - and they are bringing their performance to the Santa Ynez Valley!

Their custom-tailored costumes, vintage instruments, Liverpudlian dialect and precise attention to every detail recreate the magic, music, wit and wisdom of the total Beatle phenomenon. On stage, the four permanent members capture the unique personality, physicality and charm of the Beatle they portray, including the Fab Four’s familiar head bobs, toe taps and patter between songs.

Three costume changes cover the full range of the Beatle experience and beyond, with authentic early black suits, Sgt. Peppers’ regalia and Abbey Road attire, with all scenes set by video backdrop. Hear the horn section on Penny Lane and the full orchestration of Day in the Life. Relive the emotional intensity of John in his classic white suit performing Imagine, Paul’s moving Yesterday solo, the high energy of stadium songs like Twist and Shout and 30 other Beatle hits.

SYHS Safe & Sober Grad Nite

SYHS Safe+Sober Grad Nite

The Safe + Sober Grad Night tradition provides our graduates a well-earned celebration with their classmates before they head off into the world.

For the parents and community, this event assures that the 200 graduating seniors have an event that is safe, sober, legal, supervised and
drug-free, alcohol-free and smoke-free. Every year there are reports of graduating seniors who do not survive graduation night
as a result of alcohol or other substance abuse.

The Grad Night Committee is committed to making sure this kind of tragedy does not happen in our valley. As a community, we all have an interest in seeing these young people safely launched into adulthood to pursue their goals and contribute back to our community.

Doublewide Kings

70's Rock, Americana and Country-Blues

Sun, Jun 8th, 2025 at 3:00 pm

Doors open at 2:30pm - Open seating

Six fairly nice guys - one big mean sound

The Santa Barbara-based Doublewide Kings play a uniquely tweaked blend of original music and cover tunes that brings new passion to the familiar pleasures of roots-rock, Americana, country-blues, and the glory days of ‘70s FM radio.

With sommelier-like precision, these every-day Joes have cobbled together a repertoire that combines the deepest and most rewarding of old vine cuts with their own tasty, freshly-pressed songs, and the heady result is that, in the hands of the Kings, rock’n’roll once again feels urgent, exhilarating, and above all, fun.

From shimmering harmonies and delicate acoustic work to soaring guitar solos and big, bottom-swaying grooves, the Doublewide Kings bring their own crafty magic to every stage they step on, and they don’t quit until band and audience have become one happy, sweaty, satisfied tribe.

If you miss the soul-edifying thrill of live, bold rock’n’roll, the Kings are ready to light you up again. If you’ve never experienced that particular thrill, the Kings would be honored to show you how it’s done.

The Storytellers is a prominent progressive bluegrass band that has established itself as a creative force in the Southern California Roots Music scene. Their strong musical chemistry allows them to bring soulful harmonies, delicate acoustic sensibilities, soaring grooves, tight rhythms, substantive storytelling, and their own bluegrassy magic to every stage they stand on. The Storytellers has performed at numerous bluegrass festivals, music festivals, and other regional fairs and festivals. The band performed a year-long residency at Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and in 2023 became the first bluegrass band to perform on NAMM’s premier stage. Soul Majestic

Roots Reggae

Sun, Aug 24th, 2025 at 3:00 pm

Doors open at 2:30pm - Open seating

Originated on the sandy shores of California, Soul Majestic channels their sunny beach days and bonfire nights into their unique style of reggae music. Look beyond their laid-back vibe, and you’ll find they are ever pushing the boundaries of the genre with an edge that cuts through the smoky haze. Their music blends a deep commitment to roots reggae with a love of hip-hop, R&B/Soul, psychedelic rock, pop and folk music. It’s a new twist on familiar reggae sounds, with conscious, heartfelt, and socially relevant yet timeless messages. Their signature vocal sound features male and female singers trading melodies and soaring harmonies, laced with edgy, crowd hyping dancehall verses and memorable hooks. Epic lead guitar solos wail over a wide range of tight danceable beats, rock flourishes, and heavy-dub interludes that will captivate and move you to dance.

A fitting and delicious finale to a long weekend of vinous celebration, Bubbly Brunch is a testament to the women winemakers and chefs love of food with wine, and wine with food!. The festivities kick off with a sparkling wine tasting, where the effervescence of carefully crafted bubbles takes center stage. The morning transitions into a scrumptious brunch, created by Vega’s own Chef Louise Smith, with a selection of “breakfast wines”, poured for you by the women winemakers.  It’s a weekend where each pour tells a story, and every bite is a testament to the artistry of our own women winemakers and culinarians.
