The Santa Ynez Valley Chorale, now under the direction of David Lozano Torres, will present its Spring Concert on Saturday, May 20th at 3 p.m. at the Solvang Veterans Memorial Hall, 1745 Mission Drive, Solvang.
Mr. Torres states, “We are pleased to present our Spring Concert, “Dream the Impossible Dream.” With Broadway showstoppers from the heartfelt "Journey to the Past" from Anastasia and "Bring Him Home" from Les Misérables, to the memorable medleys of Phantom of the Opera, and The Lion King, the Chorale takes you on the journey of iconic characters as they face personal growth and self-discovery through hardships. We are reminded that we are capable of so much more as long as we continue to dream the Impossible Dream.”
Mr. Torres has a BA in Music with a conducting emphasis and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting. He is completing his Doctoral of Musical Arts Degree in Choral Conducting at the University of California Santa Barbara.
The Chorale’s first concert in 2023 drew unsolicited compliments from concert goers, including, “I was blown away by the concert and can’t wait for your spring concert” and “I’ve been to a lot of community choir concerts, but this was the best.”
“The Santa Ynez Valley Chorale has been a cultural part of the community for over forty years. This Spring we are excited to provide a memorable and inspirational program for the entire community,” says Casey Bemis, SYV Chorale President.
Tickets will be available for $15 on www.syvchorale.org, through Chorale members, at the Book Loft in Solvang or $20 at the door.
