SB - Harlem Globetrotters

Love basketball? Then Harlem Globetrotters will be a treat for you! It is an exhibition basketball team combining theater, comedy, and basketball athleticism in a single play. Since its inception, the show has played over 26,000 exhibition games across 124 countries and territories.

The Harlem Globetrotters has an anthropomorphized globe – called Globie – as their official mascot. In a typical year, they play more than 450 live events across the world. The idea of the Globetrotters traces its roots in the south side of Chicago, Illinois, back in the 1920s. The area where most of the original players grew up.

It started as Savoy Big Five, one of the biggest attractions to the Savoy Ballroom that was opened in January 1928. The Globetrotters participates in the World Professional Basketball Tournament, and in 1940 won the competition. In 1948, the Globetrotters-Lakers game beat the Minneapolis Lakers (now L.A Lakers), the best white basketball teams in the country at the time, and its popularity shot sky-high.

The team slowly morphed into a comic basketball show that dazzles fans of the basketball game. To watch them live and in action, get your ticket to their next performance at TicketsOnSale.com.
