We are back on March 18th and 19th for the second annual Santa Barbara Surf Film Festival after a 2-year hiatus due to Covid.
The 2022 festival will be a different experience that celebrates Santa Barbara’s rich surf history at a new venue showcasing captivating surf cinema, live music, art in multiple mediums, local charities & vendors, and food & artisan drinks. Our Covid friendly event at the Community Arts Workshop space features indoor and outdoor activities that allow plenty of room to roam around, have fun, and feel comfortable. In line with our missions to benefit the community, our silent auction and raffle proceeds will benefit our three partner no -profits: The Surf Happens Foundation, Heal the Ocean and Surfrider Foundation.
We’re very proud to announce our feature films for the festival, "Searching for Tom Curren," “Snapt4,” “Birth of the Endless Summer,” “Waterman” and “Morning of the Earth”, and our short films “93 Letter from Marge,” “805 Presents: Beautiful Silence featuring Nate Tyler,” “RE-MOTE: The Lost Reels,” and “Art Form.” The art hall, open both days, will be a large format exhibition of works by Albert Falzon. We'll be kicking off the fest with a Nosotros sponsored happy hour while listening to live music by the folk rock band Uncle Uncle.
We’re dedicating Saturday morning for our youth program which will include short clips featuring local groms sponsored by Surf Happens, and music from the kids band Wombo Combo.
Come out to enjoy extraordinary films, all-day live music, great food, and drinks while strolling through our open-air market featuring local vendors, sponsor activations, and non-profit booths. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase.
Hope to see you all there!
